This is by far the best feeder for feeding thistle seed to all of the finches and goldfinches that visit your yard as you can do it just so easily and without the squirrels trying to get at the seed. This is the excellent Brome Squirrel Buster Finch Feeder and it therefore uses the same technology as the rest of the Squirrel Buster models that covers over the feeder ports whenever a squirrel gets on to the feeder. Of course this does not harm the squirrels but it can drive them crazy as it is just so effective at stopping them getting at the bird seed on the inside. The squirrels will soon give it and move on to try and find something easier from where they might be able to get a meal. Busted squirrels will not come back either as they soon learn that trying to get into on of these feeders is just a waste of their time. A metal mesh shroud surrounds the clear plastic seed tube, creating clinging areas for your birds. Perches at the four bottom ports offer a resting spot for birds, while the four upper ports are accessed by clinging onto the wire.
