First decide what type of food you are going to be feeding to the birds. Then look for a proofed feeder that is going to the job you want. But remember it has to do this in the location where you want to install your bird feeder. Location is very important as squirrels will approach from many angles and they can jump about 8' and are very agile. Make it as difficult as you can for them by choosing a good location. Then buy a feeder that stops them taking the food.
